How a video gets made

Seven steps from brief to publish

The same steps you work through in the studio.

  1. Step 1: Brief Say what you want to make and who it's for.
  2. Step 2: Script Scene cards to edit; any scene can be rewritten on its own.
  3. Step 3: Storyboard Every shot with what we see, the camera move and its length.
  4. Step 4: Keyframes A still frame for each shot, from your cast and references.
  5. Step 5: Shots Each shot made into video, with versions to compare.
  6. Step 6: Timeline The cut, with music, voice-over and captions.
  7. Step 7: Publish Checks for rights and consent before anything goes out.

Checked before it goes out

Every export passes the publish checks: rights, logos, faces and consent, licences, and a provenance credential.

  • Music and sounds have licences Every track on the timeline has its licence on file. Pass
  • A face needs a consent record A reviewer looks at the evidence and decides. Review
  • A logo appears in shot 3 Change the shot, or make it again. Blocking
